DIY Eyebrow Trimming Tutorial

Today's tutorial is basically going to show us how to trim or tweeze our eyebrows without help from any one. I have to remind us that it's my personal makeup trick that I share here and you can be sure that I have tested my methods overtime to verify simplicity. So, yes, you should be able to trim your brows perfectly after following the guide below and ensuring consistent practice.

I have attached pictures from my eyebrow-trimming process, as well as short clips of how to position the 'instruments' needed for trimming to make it easy for everyone to follow, understand and revert back to anytime.

Now let's start the learning process, shall we?

Tools needed:

1. Spoolie: It comes with almost every makeup brush set. You can also wash off your old mascara wand and dry it to use as a spoolie.

2. Razor Blade and/or Tweezer: Any of the two can be gotten from a drug store or makeup store. I will be using a blade for this tutorial (I just find it way easier to use...). Make sure you use a new blade if you choose the 'blade option'. Also, do not share your blade with any other person (safety precaution).

3. Sharpened Pencil: It is important that you sharpen your pencil to help with the achievement of defined lines. It is also not necessary that you use a brown pencil in executing your eyebrow trimming as would be seen in the pictures and clips below. The pencil is only for tracing out the brow you want to achieve. You might as well use a colored pencil to help you see clearly any stray hairs that should be trimmed.

Now to the tutorial proper. Follow the pictures and clips after the cut.
METHOD ONE: TRACING BEFORE TRIMMING


1. Use your Spoolie to brush up the hairs on the eyebrow region.

2. Trace out the brow you want to achieve with a pencil. Widen your eyes and raise your brows to assist with identifying your natural arch and where to trace out as your natural eyebrow. Start by tracing the upper part of the brow after which you trace the lower part till both lines meet at the arch. 

3. Use your spoolie to brush up the hair in between the drawn lines upward. Make sure you don't paint the inner part of the lines you have drawn.  Brushing up the hair will help you see the outgrown hair you need to trim. 

4. Place your razor blade gentle below the lower brow line and trim the excess hair. Be very careful while doing this. Watch the process below. Repeat the same process for the upper brow line. 

5. Wipe off the pencil trace you have made to see your already trimmed brows.

METHOD TWO: NO TRACING
Unlike the first method where we trace out the brow we want to achieve, here we just trim using our natural instinct and following the natural arch of our brows. Make sure you widen your eyes properly to trace out the perfect brow.

Brush up your brows using the spoolie. 

Now brush down to see the excess hair that needs trimming. 

Trim excess hair starting with the excess you've brushed down. Be extremely careful not to over-trim the hair.

Use your spoolie to brush back the brows to its original form and then trim the excess hair on the upper brow area.

And that's how I achieve my trimmed brows. Now I can wake up a little later than usual since I don't have to spend time filling my brows every morning. 😂 (just kidding). 
It's really easy. You just have to practice!

Our first post will focus on how to achieve a perfect eyebrow without tweezing our full brows. The popular belief is that you need to tweeze your brows in order to achieve a perfect looking 'filled' eyebrows. It's no wonder that so many people cannot go a day without filling their brows since their natural brows have been over-tweezed, leaving them with almost no natural brows.
If you decide to groom your brows to become full (i'm a fan of full brows, by the way) and yet you want your brows looking shaped and perfectly filled, then this video is for you.

I'll be showing you my personal (and favorite) eyebrow trick. It's a trick that has worked and keeps working for me. I'm certain it will work for you too.

As time goes on, pictures showing different makeup processes will be attached to posts for easy reference.
